About the Business
Richard Spindler established SFYB Ltd after ten years working on his own in films and teaching the art and science of filmmaking. He came into film production from a varied background as events occurring in his life changed the direction of his working life.
He started out in metallurgy, as a researcher in precious metals. The close experience of his aunt with cancer highlighted the powerful benefit of alternative therapies. This led Richard to training in acupuncture, studying partly in China and running a practice for ten years. Then his involvement in a long but successful legal action against a bank led him to obtain a degree in law. The case revealed how an institution, even a bank, may owe a duty of care to its customers. It became an important legal case and was studied worldwide.
Being part of a high profile legal case gave Richard a brief exposure to publicity.
